It’s been quite a while since I’ve had any time to post anything. Work has been keeping me busy, almost too busy to hit the studio but I’ve been down a couple of times and I have a couple of tracks on the go.
I work with so many talented & creative people it is so very inspiring. Az Saleem & James Boyle have been working very hard on getting a short into production, they roped in Rob Hudson (composer) amongst others to help get it off the ground.

I managed to finalise the mix of ‘As Time Ticked by’ and I submitted for a compilation CD that the guys from Grace are putting together. Matt, who’s doing a massive job of pulling the whole thing together, mailed me to let me know that it was accepted. It should be released on Proost in September & followed on Amazon & iTunes in October.
I will of course keep you posted as news wings it’s way across the wire.

I don’t think I’ve really given enough weight to how important or wonderful the Elbow track ‘Weather to Fly’ actually is.

“So in looking to stray from the line
we decided instead
we should pull out the thread that was
stitching us into this tapestry vile,
And why wouldn’t you try?
Perfect weather to fly.”

To me it speaks of my nature as I would never be afraid to try and my darling Paula’s art as she is all about stitch and thread.
I also think that I came home from this years Teenstreet with that attitude reinforced, particularly through my friendship with Josh Walker who never fails to amaze me & inspire me on to want & expect more. Everyday he thinks about skating, he practices and pushes himself even further. He let me take this great photo of him, flying. I loved all the early morning laps of the main hall that we’ve put in over the years praying over the message but I’ve gotten so much just from finding Josh in some quiet corner of the hall trying to perfect his kickflips.

I have to say that I’ve been working on this track for a while but it didn’t really come together till Foy got a piano delivered in to Studio52. Not that my piano playing is perfect but Logic 9 helped me to get it in time.

Oh yeah, finally it’s happened. It’s been a year of faffing and it has only just gotten sorted. The problem I was trying to fix never did get fixed but I wonder who’ll even notice. It is good to have it all sorted and ready to go. It will probably take me a little while to get into the swing of getting some content up. Bear with me. There is plenty to write about and plenty of music hiding on my hard drives for me to post for you to listen to. I’ve also just picked up a Canon G10 so I’ll be taking more photos to share with you all.
